5 Trending Things To Do in London This Week

Looking to fill the gaps in your diary this week? Well, you’re in the right place. Much like the bees, the city is buzzing with board game cafés, high-tech bingo nights, and immersive experiences that are hot on everyone’s lists right now. And with the much-needed bank holiday weekend in sight, there’s no better time to read on and download the Bindy Street app to see what else is popping in London. Consider your calendar fully booked…

1. Colors Festival

Following its much-loved debut in Paris, the Colors Festival has arrived in London with a series of vibrant, hard-to-miss artworks and photographs that’ll tickle your senses. Expect mind-bending pieces from over 40 street artists across the globe, spread over 1,000m² of exhibition space - the perfect backdrop for some instagrammable snaps, in our opinion.

2. Freddie Mercury: A World Of His Own

When Queen frontman Freddie Mercury wasn’t gracing the stage with his eccentric performances and killer voice, he was a collector of iconic art, fashion, music, photography, interior design, and more. So what if the universe presented you with an opportunity to see the collection IRL? Enter the Freddie Mercury: A World of His Own exhibition, which has taken over Sotheby’s New Bond Street galleries until 5 September 2023. That’s right, you’ll get the opportunity to view Freddie’s prized-possessions which have remained at his home, Garden Lodge, for over three decades. Then there’s the added sweetener of visiting The Story Cafe for a cuppa, which has been transformed into a charming space inspired by the singer's love for cats.

3. Hijingo Bingo

Looking for the perfect night out? Look no further than Shoreditch’s Hijingo, a one-stop bingo hall with a tech-infused twist. For a limited time only, they’re going all out 80s - that’s right, the era of neon spandex, disco dance floors, and wildly permed hair (excuse us while we dress accordingly). Throughout the 90 minute experience, you’ll play six-rounds of bingo accompanied by live performers, 80s chart-toppers, and exclusive prizes from bar tabs to European holidays to be won. Sitting in one of seven modern, interlocked spaces whilst you challenge your loved ones to a game of Monopoly or shuffleboard for under £10. 5. Disney 100

A dream is a wish your heart makes - and if your heart is calling out for a once-in-a-lifetime magical experience, then the Disney 100 exhibition is for you. Located in the heart of ExCeL London, The Walt Disney archives have opened a vault of historical and special treasures, original artworks, costumes, props, and memorabilia to celebrate the last 100 years. This includes ten wonderful galleries with renowned classics from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) to contemporary releases such as Encanto (2021). What of the latest members of the Disney family, you may ask? Pixar, Star Wars, MARVEL and National Geographic all make a star-appearance, too. Perfect for adults and children alike, this event is trending for a reason so be sure to book your ticket in a Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.
