Discover What’s Trending in London This Week

September is here, but we’re not quite ready to declare autumn just yet. The city is far from cooling down too, with colourful installations, mind-blowing aerobatics, and a new glam’ lido still very much on top of every Londoner's agenda this week. With the mini heatwave in sight - late summer, anyone? - there’s no better time to jump in on the hype, simply by reading on or through the Bindy Street app just a download away.

1. Lido at Birch

The Birch Hotel in South Croydon recently unveiled a swanky new lido that is set to be on people's radar whilst the sun still shines. Designed by Sella Concept, the 25-metre space takes inspiration from the 1920's and 1930's golden age of outdoor pools with elegant sun beds and cherry red parasols. From morning until sunset, the lido is open every day for members and guests of the hotel - and while the membership is quite a spend, it might just be worth it to feel as though you're spending a glorious day in the South of France (if the weather permits).

Location: 126 Addington Rd, South Croydon CR2 8YA

2. Studio Dreamachine

Touching down in Hackney, Studio Dreamachine is ready to take you on a transformative journey into the deepest parts of your mind - whether that sounds scary or not, we’ll leave that for you to decide! Created by a highly intelligent team of artists, composers, technologists, scientists, and philosophers, expect a choreography of light and music that’ll open up a colourful world behind your closed eyes. You might see patterns and shapes, cities and landscapes, or abstract waves of shifting colours. You might even fall asleep, but whatever you see and feel at this one-of-a-kind immersive experience, it’ll excitingly be unique to you.

FYI: for extra comfort, this is a guided, seated experience with time for reflection at the end.

This monumental event boasts a programme of UK and internationally renowned artists, including ‘RESURGAM’, an on-edge vertical dance performance on St Paul's Cathedral,  ‘Dinner for All’, a major immersive theatrical circus experience, and ‘Showwomen Spectacular’, a new promenade theatrical show directed by Olivier award winner Marisa Carnesky.
