Have You Heard Of This Crazy Cocktail Bar With Its Own Hilarious Immersive Show?

Mirroring the original story, you and a bunch of strangers who all conveniently find themselves on Stoke Newington Road, enter into the colourful cocktail factory and are welcomed into the creepy ‘sweet shop’ by a cheery green-haired lumpy dumpy with rosy cheeks. If you’re hoping for a welcome candy or an appearance from Johnny Depp, think again, because you’ll be offered the next best thing, a shot of Tequila Rose.

Once you’ve received your Golden Packet from a sassier lumpy dumpy through a flap in the wall, you’ll be led into the main cocktail factory where you can exchange it for a cocktail creation of your choice, whether that be a bright blue Fizzy Lifting drink or a fruity Peach Bellini. In this room filled with eerie miniature television screens, large mirrors, and a fully stocked bar, you’ll wonder to yourself ‘what have I gotten myself into?’ as the shenanigans commence and you’re asked to write a dare onto a piece of paper and put it into a mixing hat. But don’t worry, after you’ve enjoyed your first tipple, you’re welcome to grab another at the bar, warm up to the oddities, and embrace the night ahead as the quick-witted Billy Bonker makes their grand entrance. Although, if we’re honest, we don’t know if you’ll ever be prepared for what’s to come...

Downstairs in the 70s psychedelic-inspired ballroom is where all of the magic happens. The show is a high-spirited queer cabaret that’s hilarious from start to finish, with passionate performances from characters including the led astray Violet Beauregarde, Charlie’s grandmother (who we’re all surprised made it out of bed), and the villainous Slutworth who can be seen seductively lurking in dark corners. The entertainers bounced off of the happily tipsy audience in a way that made us all feel as though we were being taken along for the ride, especially when we were given written tasks for a chance to win a prize and pulled up on stage to join in on group dances. This three hour immersive experience is guaranteed to be one of the most memorable nights out you’ll have ever had, you’ll leave the cocktail factory with the same feeling that you get when you’ve just seen a long film at the cinema, as though you’ve left an entirely different world…
